Interact Contacts App Reviews

Very basic, very slow

Not a great app. Doesnt show key contact details unless you click to open the contact. Have to rebuild the index every time you change contact data (takes ages and I only have 4,000 contacts). Doesnt resort contact date unless you manually change the sort order and change it back. On the plus side the search does seem better than the default iOS contacts app i.e. it does seem to search the notes field.

Lots of Bugs

App has several bugs and need to improve usability, but therere many possibilities to add more resources. In Argile Toise I believe

Exchange and Groups are not possible

Would this have been written in the information, I wouldnt have bought it.

Very Good Contact Manager

Excellent first start. Greg put a lot of effort into the application. I am still learning the ropes, however, there seems to be a lot of integration potentials!

Simply the most useful ...

Only a little way into my experience in the Beta program Interact became the only contact app I use ... It is all it is claimed to be in terms of features and function ... but those dont even scratch the surface in terms of the productivity leverage it brings.

Finally, something to bring order to contacts chaos

If Apples Contacts app is the basecamp, Interact gets you to the summit. But then you expect nothing less from Agile Tortoise.

Incredible

This app resolves my contact management issues in iOS. Laid out with clear purpose. Highly recommended

Ugly and Complicated

Bought as a drafts user and welcomed the concept of being able to manipulate contacts. Disappointed though as it is an ugly contacts book and not very intuitive for its interactions. I think the app would benefit from getting a design makeover. Good ideas poorly implemented.

Average App-Not worth $$

You can find these functionalities in any free apps. UI is poor and can have some more efficient layout. Overall average free app.

INTERACT

Good app. Got real good potential. And the support is real great. Keep it up!

So useful

Love the group management features send out mail to different groups. Great attention to detail and consideration for accessibility features. Very appreciated!

Potential

Love the idea and the company behind it however in its present form I find it pretty unintuitive/confusing. Drafts is a fantastic app and I am sure that this will get the work it needs to be one too.

Heres my acronym summary - UI = WTF

I bought this application because Drafts is such a great app. I cant say the same for Interact. apparently the user interface designer was on vacation when they made this ridiculous app. The functionality is there… Its just a major pain to get to

Not user friendly

The app Drafts from the same developer is a fantastic app. I made the mistake and ignored the negative reviews about interact because of Drafts. This app really is bad. The user interface is ugly and counterintuitive. It uses the screen space poorly. It cant scan and OCR a business card. It doesnt come with any useful tool to clear up entries. Its only real feature is group emails. This app needs a lot of rethinking. Ignore this app and take a look at the fantastic Drafts app instead.

Great app at launch, will probably get better

This is a 4-star app that will probably be 5-stars after a post-launch update or two addresses user requests. On my wish list is: tags for Phonetic First Name and Phonetic Last Name. Living in Japan, you often need those to confirm *kanji* readings, particularly for given names. Those fields are available for adding manually after the contact is created, but the parsing engine doesnt recognize them yet. Considering that the overhead for adding those, and perhaps some other fields is probably not that high, Im betting well see support for the full list of fields in future updates. Ive been looking for a better way to add contacts for a long time. The standard Contacts app requires lots of tapping, typing, tapping through fields. Other 3rd party apps have been much the same, even if they featured other extended capabilities. Ive used Drafts extensively for the last couple of years and tried to cobble together my own workflow using URL-callbacks and other power-user type tricks to try to streamline the process, but the technical hurdles and time investment started to approach developing my own app. Thankfully, the same guys who made Drafts made this app, so I dont have to!

Much better than Contacts 日本語も大分できるみたい

On launch day, this was very nearly the app I had been looking for for the last couple of years. Groups are almost unusable in the stock Apple Contacts app. I had used a combination of Drafts (also by this developer), LaunchCenter Pro, and TextExpander to work around some of the limitations. Interact makes working with groups actually viable in iOS. You can create or edit groups directly on the phone. There is no separate database, it works directly with the contacts you have already entered via Contacts. The scratchpad feature is great. Officially, the developer only supports English, but the app recognizes most Japanese address elements, and a quick select and tag will let you properly enter names — which the parsing engine doesnt recognize automatically. The developer is responsive. I sent an email the day I downloaded it, explaining that I really wished the scratchpad supported tagging phonetic first and last names. Even though a bilingual usage case like mine is pretty rare, only about a week later, when the first point release came out, he had added support for tags for phonetic last and first names.

Do not use this app

This app looks nice, but it can not work ensuring consistency with "Contacts". I was always annoyed at missing contacts. Do not use the app.

Lots of features

Ive used it for about a week, and I find it more flexible than Apple contacts. My only issue is that it seems to only allow 2 columns, not one or three.

Great app

The ability to easily create and manage groups on my phone is great.

Well worth the price of admission

Not suited to be my daily contacts reference, but handy as heck for maintenance. Moving contacts in/out/between groups en masse is really easy, where I had long ago given up trying in the stock Mac/iOS apps.
