Interact Contacts App Reviews

Not intuitive with little reference material

I was hoping this would help with contact management and it does not rise to that level. Creating contact groups requires that every email address listed in the contact will get a copy of the email. No way to select just one. For the price and the limited use I would not buy again.

Stellar iOS Contact Replacement

Agile Tortoise is already known for truly great apps for iOS, and now having his spin on Contacts...hes again revolutionized something we didnt even have on our radars! Interact is more than capable of replacing the iOS Contacts app, and has partially stepped into the realm of Messaging and Mail apps with its the incredible Context idea. Knowing how much Drafts has grown from its original release should only prepare us for even more greatness to come. Dont miss this incredible app.

Underwhelming

Its not an understatement that I am obsessed with contact management. I have scoured the app store and tried most. I was excited to see someone else enter this arena. From a functionality and user experience, theres really no difference. There are still all of the taps required to perform an action as every other app out there. The app touts group management, but requires all the usual steps to add contacts to groups. Where are the smart groups? Everyone should be classifiable as soon as theyre created. Upon further use Im realizing that I cannot even make a phone call without taking multiple steps... Find (Multiple steps), tap to view the contact and tap to call. Once Im viewing a contact name, I should be able to swipe to message or call. Maybe adding a phone action icon at the bottom of the screen would be helpful. Contact Field names in the Scratch pad area do not exactly match Apples labels. They should adhere to their naming convention. There are also some field labels missing from that area that I use. Ive neglected to add my shock at the price of this app. Thank goodness I got it on sale. Others comments are right on point when you consider function, feature and usability vs. Cost. This is not there. My current favorite is free. Im disappointed.

Best way to handle contacts on iOS

If you work with contacts on iOS much, you need this app! People complaining of limitations, note that many limitations arent the developers fault. Greg does a great job with all his apps and this is no different. Any problems will improve and in terms of issues and limitations one should always contact the developer before leaving negative reviews, as it is usually something that can be taken care of that way, whereas in reviews, developers cant reply. Interact is great at what it does. Its focused, not bloated with unnecessary features. Its quick and handy. Share to contacts using the Share extension and context feature. Manage groups. Edit or add new contacts. The best part is the Scratch pad and its url scheme and action extension so you can easily create new or edit existing contacts. Only issue I have is thst adding tags in Scratchpad pushes the item to a new line so you have to backspace to get it in same line for it to work. Its been reported and Im sure it will be taken care of soon and this is not something that prevents the app from being great.

Promising but search bug

I have thousands of Contacts. I found search results were incomplete compared to native app. This could be an iOS big though, Contaqs.app search results were better but still incomplete. UI could be prettier, but app is responsive. I wish iOS provided long-hold help on icons, but this is not an Interact problem. Group management and the automated contact as are both promising. Worth exploring but not worth more than $5 just yet. Also compare Contaqs.app.

A good start

Ive wanted a contact management app that can manage contact groups in iCloud for a long time. While this app DOES do this, it is disappointing in other ways. For example, the lack of a row of index letters down the right side of the screen makes it much more difficult than it needs to be to jump to the end of a long list of contacts. I agree with others that the interface is not very intuitive- it isnt obvious through the iconography what many of the buttons do. Also, the app wastes a lot of space, showing fewer contacts than it could. When I open my contact app, I want to be able to actually contact someone with as few taps, swipes, etc. as possible, and this app doesnt meet that goal. Im keeping it on my iPhone to manage contact groups, but Ill be using a different app to actually interact with my contacts on a daily basis until the interface improves here.

wont save groups to Google contacts

I just wasted about 15 minutes creating a group, only to find that something is corrupted and the groups name comes up blank and I cant add anything to it. Created a new group, and it too got corrupted immediately.

Great v1, focused and extensible

I do 90% of my work on iOS and having a contact manager that handles groups is awesome. It treats contacts as a thing to act upon instead of a list of information, which is great for sharing, emailing, texting, and managing. Cant wait for future versions

Does everything Contacts does and more

Two killer features are natural language parsing to add new contacts and flawless management of contact groups, which was notably deficient in Contacts and other third-party solutions.

Linked Contacts

I dont understand why it doesnt respect my linked cards to a single contact or allow me to merge the information

Terrible app at a premium price

So many bugs in this app. Cant believed they launched it! Especially since the companies other apps are quite good. This is atrocious however. Dont pay the money. It says its on sale hahaha. What is the full price. Its a ripoff at the sale price!

Quite honestly the worst!

I saw some 5 star reviews for the earlier version, can only believe they were paid for or something. This app is TERRIBLE. A waste of $5. DO NOT BUY IT!

terrible

I love Drafts and like Terminology, but this app is seriously not ready for prime time and its wrong to charge folks $5 for it on the strength of your reputation from other apps. super buggy to the point of being non functional, and even w bugs fixed its very unintuitive and basically unclear what it even does.

Screencasts ? Or, Zendesk or GoHome

Someone giving a review had to buy the app, if not capable of using (learning) advanced or not elementary apps, innovative apps -- the Devs (Agile Tortoise) are inclusive, they build handles into their stuff for "others" but youd need the desire to read, and search -- learn and edu. yourselves they have a keen desire and vested interest in pointing you towards these "handles" mystically spoken of.

Awesome contacts app

This app is great! I have had no problems with it and I am loving the vastly improved experience with managing my contacts on iOS. Finally can edit or add groups in iOS!!! Thank you!!

Its Not Working

Its a scam for $5

Works great

I work on my phone a lot in the field. This app lets me work with contacts without going to my MacBook to manage groups and the contact details. Extremely useful. Worth the money.

Very Useful

Very easy to manage and create groups. Also easy to text and email those groups. The downside for me is that, when sending email, it seems to only work with Apples mail app. I experienced some instances where the editing window became unresponsive. I had to close the app and reopen to get it working. All in all, it was worth the purchase. NOTE: The app doesnt sync directly with iCloud, it syncs with the native Contacts app (which syncs with iCloud)

Weird and unintuitive, with no contact linking

Just downloaded this on the promise of doing group management. My 60 second impression is ’stay away’. IMPORTANT: Interact doesn’t support linked contacts, so all those Facebook friends that you also have in your phone contacts will now show up TWICE in Interact (Apple smartly links these in Contacts, so you don’t have to worry about this). I’m pretty sure this oversight alone makes Interact pretty much fail at the promise of simplifying your contacts. Interface-wise, it’s non-standard and unintuitive. For instance, they have a toolbar but choose not to implement Apple’s toolbar UI (e.g. the one at the bottom of Mail), and they use the ‘+’ symbol when they mean a checkbox. There are many other obvious examples like this that increase the learning curve. More troubling, I’m not sure what I should *do* in any one workflow or area - the next steps seem are not obvious that make me wonder why Im looking at this screen or widget. I’m a UI designer by trade and this stuff is really amateur work, and makes their other rather complicated app Drafts look straightforward. As you can tell, I think I wasted $5. This was after reading a bit about it beforehand including other reviews. Didn’t think it’d be so bad.

Complete Contact Management

Loving the app. Had a few crashing bugs. Hope theyre fixed.
