Interact Contacts App Reviews

Excellent App!

I bought this after reading about its features, and its been even better than I expected! VoiceOver support is great. Scratch Pad for taking that quick note you jotted down, and turning it into a complete contact is excellent! That was my primary interest, and the ability to select contacts, choose attachments, and choose to email, text, or other things with the attachments and text in place is extremely handy. If you do a lot of email or texting of information, reports, bulletins, etc. with your I-Device, I highly recommend it. Nice job!

Great and easy to use app

I like this app a lot. It works with Apple and Google Contacts and provides a great interface. I used it with Apple Contacts and its my default contact manager on an iPad Pro. Lets me organize contacts in groups and create group emails. Very nice. Highly recommend as a powerful contact manager that isnt overly complex or more powerful than I need. One-time purchase, no annual or monthly fees. Good work.

Nasty annoying issue

If one or more of your contacts have more than one email address: a group containing such contact will display all email addresses when the group is entered in your iOS mail client. Leaves you as the sender to either send to all addresses or to sort out which. For my purposes this "annoyance" makes the app worthless. Author says its an iOS fundamental he cannot avoid. Sorry I bought it.

Good features

I like a lot of what this app does, and its stuff Ive wanted, but am still a little confused by interface preventing me from using it more. I do trust this developer and hope this app evolves

Outstanding CMS, easy to use.

This thing is killer. I always start in Drafts (its in my dock) then parse to this (Interact). The app is fast and easy on the eyes/icons. Great work by the developer as usual.

Power-user gem

This is a gem of an app. Think of it as a Swiss-Army knife of contact-managers. It allows you to group and manage contacts in all sorts of ways, and best of all: It does it with complete compatibility with the built-in iOS Contacts app (this is not true for many third-party contact manager apps I have tried)! My suggestion: Take 5 or 10 minutes and watch the instruction videos on their site. You will find all sorts of ways to use this. For example, it has a great sharing extension that you can access from other apps, allowing easy integration all over your device. It can also take blocks of text and parse out the contact details, creating a new contact (and you can review/edit first). Want to send multiple photo attachments in an email from your iOS device at the same time—no problem. There is much more. The only negatives I can come up with: Because it’s so powerful, it takes a few minutes to learn how to use the app (although the newest version has a beautiful Help system to get you started). Also, there are a few icon changes I would make (e.g. change the ‘plus-sign’ icon to an open circle for standard conventions when selecting multiple contacts). Otherwise, this is a top-notch app.

Awesome

Interact is one of those apps you never realized you needed until you give it a try. Just the share extensions alone made the purchase worth it.

Just the app I needed

Finally, a decent approach to managing contacts on iOS. This has been one of the major pains with iOS devices, is the inability to manage a and use groups. I have tried a number of apps over the years, and they either weren’t any better than the default app, wanted to upload my data somewhere else to manage it, or they fell out of the store at some point. Interact manages contacts well, handles organizing groups and sending email and messages, and doesn’t want to upload my contacts to s server. Most of all, for me, the app is completely VoiceOver accessible, which isn’t surprising considering the developer. Aside from these important points, the scratch pad and plain text parsing for creating new contacts or updating existing makes this the best app for iOS when it comes to handling contacts.

Disappointed

Group function doesnt work when you have primary contact account is on Exchange. In digging into help site, found that the group functionality only works with CardDAV based accounts (e.g. Google or iCloud). Wish that was spelled out more specifically in the app description in the "not" section.

Not impressed

For a $5 contact management app, this was unimpressive. I found the interface dated and functionality very limited. Hardly any social integration.

Does NOT support Exchange contacts

Worthless if you use Exchange (MS Outlook) as your contact address book.

Not worth $5 or any dollars

Cant merge duplicate contacts, cant determine which account a contact came from (btw, agile tortoise, this feature is possible...just because you dont know how, doesnt mean it cant be done) 5 bucks down the drain. Deleted after 10 minutes

Worthless...

I cannot believe that they are charging to download this app. For the price, I expected advanced features and functions. Don’t waste your money here. So many better apps that are free.

decent contacts application

In this first version Im pleasantly surprised how robust it is. It is quite easy to use. I love how you can change the order of phone numbers and email addresses in an individual contact. if you have multiple phone numbers or multiple email addresses this application uses the first entry whereas some other contact applications allow you to choose if theres more than one and I prefer this latter method. Even though this is quite functional it is a fairly unattractive application. There is an odd screen flickering that occurs when I am editing a phone number.

Doesnt work, confusing interface

I downloaded the app and tried 3 times to create a group. Each time it deleted the group name, and when I tried to add the name again I got a developer error. Also, the interface relies on difficult to decipher icons that are not intuitive and require you to tap every one and remember what they do. Great idea, not yet ready for mainstream. I also wasnt able to find a way to create a contact from a text message thread.

Best contacts app

This is hands down the best contacts manager Ive used. From group creation and management to bulk contact deletion, Interact fixes nearly everything that the iOS Contacts app is missing. One of the best features is that it does everything within the Contacts framework on the device and doesnt upload anything to a third-party server.

Best way to manage and interact with contacts on iOS.

Ive been beta testing this app for awhile, and its just gotten better and better. The scratchpad and the group management features alone are worth it, but the sharing extension and flexible search are also indispensable. This is the kind of app that makes you wonder why Apple is so lazy about its own core apps.

Did Not Auto Populate my existing contacts. No info included

My existing contacts did not automatically populate. There are no instruction how to get my contacts into the app. Therefore the app is unusable. I feel RiPPED OFF.

Limitations in first version

The first few reviews are too perfect, so I thought Id inject some reality here. I love this developer, as Im a daily user of Drafts and Terminology. If you use Exchange, Outlook, or Google apps as your default account for contacts, expect to have most of the group features of this app not work. Your existing groups will not be named what they actually are - theyll be called All-Account or All-Exchange. All of them, so you wont know which group is which (Facebook, LinkedIn, Gmail, etc). Also, your + button to add a new group using the app may be greyed out, unusable, if you use Exchange or Outlook as you default account. Its not easy to navigate the UI right now either without spending some quality time with the extensive support docs. The action extension and the use of scripts is a huge benefit. I just wish the main app worked as I thought it would when trying to utilize those features. I have faith this can get better, but my initial impression is not great.

Powerful Contacts Tool

I use contacts as a true database and love the added capabilities this app has. Hoping to see even more in coming releases.
